Yoga for Tranquility and Joy: Managing Mental and Emotional Well-being with Practice

Yoga practice employs the body-mind to seek and find the perennial “place in space,” that is always tranquil and joyful, the true Self.
Performed with the physical body, Yoga can enhance their mental and emotional well-being, both on and off the mat by dissolving the negative effects caused by the stress, strain and speed of modern life.
In this series you will learn:
how to practice asana and pranayama with skill and sensitivity to cultivate a tranquil (sattvic) state of mind
specific sequences to balance both overactive, anxious (rajasic) and dull/melancholic (tamasic) states of being
key teachings from Yoga philosophy texts that support your holistic connection and integration to the every joyful, lucid Self

Yoga, as Therapy: Light on the Knees in Padmasana

Gloria Goldberg is one of the few remaining Certified Iyengar Yoga Teachers internationally to have learned Yoga and its therapeutic application at the feet of Guruji, B.K.S. Iyengar and his daughter Geeta Iyengar. She learned how to heal her knees through their direct teaching and her own skillful practice. In these two workshops you will learn what she realized: how the layers of the embodiment (the mind, nerves, muscles, tendons, ligaments) integrate to contribute towards the beneficial movement of the joints of the leg (ankles, hips and knees).
